Gaillardo Sound (Donic)

In developing GALLARDO Sound, DONIC have paid particular attention to perfect feel and the best possible sound. This "SOUND machine" offers excellent control and spin, due to its very soft and highly elastic 35° Shore Sponge, yet it generates sufficient speed for success in the modern game of table tennis. What distinguishes this new 2008 version is the spinny top surface plus even more power in the sponge.

DONIC SOUND SYSTEM D.S.S.
DONIC’s new rubber technology.

GALLARDO Speed and GALLARDO Sound consist of a combination of natural and synthetic sponge, developed from the newest Japanese rubber technology.

Natural and synthetic sponges are often combined to ensure that the rubber is more dynamic.

If the proportion of synthetic sponge is too high, the rubber will be highly elastic but will split easily. One therefore requires a special technique to combine various types of synthetic sponge without endangering the lifespan of the rubbers.

This is the secret of DONIC’s new SOUND SYSTEM:

It is highly elastic, has a distinctively loud sound, is extremely powerful and fast, but great control is ensured due to specially selected sponges. This results in fantastic touch plus a longer lifespan of the rubbers!

The donic gaillardo sound rubber is a tensor that is pretty light weight. The sponge is very soft, and not very dense, so it has a very good elasticity. The speed is not too great, nor is the spin. Control is also pretty typical of a offensive rubber. I would say this rubber is a allround+ rubber. For looping, the rubber is okay, but i do not feel that it is prime. You definitely do not get the speed or the spin from this rubber than from other rubbers like tenergy. For blocking, it is pretty good. I did not find much use for this rubber, other than the cool clikcing sound.
