Supersonic S40 (Donic)

Supersonic S40 (Donic)

The super-thick rubber for loopers, for speed addicts, and more.

DONIC Supersonic S40 offers you the opportunity to increase your sponge thickness by 0.3 mm while keeping the same level of ball control. The sensitive top sheet that is only 1.3 mm thick gives better ball contact that ensures good control even when using thicker sponge. Supersonic S40 converts the additional sponge into additional spin and speed.

Suitable for all offensive strategies that rely on spin. Produces extremely high speed and spin characteristics. In general with Supersonic S40, you should select sponge that is 0.3 mm thicker than you have been using with other rubber.

Top sheet: Spin-Elastic.

this rubber is truly for "spin-based" attackers and has lot of gears because it gives spin. you actually feel the ball seem to dig into the rubber and sponge, and then catapults it back to your opponent. once used it with stiga carbo 7.6. it also allows you to initiate attack on your opponent's back-spin ball. loopers' dream!

cons: topsheet easily tears upon impact with table, topsheet's grip decreases drastically in three months if you play often, and completely gone in eight months.
pros: good for spin-based attacking, as the manufacturer claims. fast even without speed glue. super fast with speed glue. blockers delight. easy to attack back-spin.
over-all: would really be worth it if price were slashed 50%. lack of durability is understandable because of the very thin topsheet - but why should the grip be gone in just three months? . one of the best rubbers -- in the first month of use. then performance declines drastically.

The donic supersonic is a pretty good rubber, not really fast but amazingly good loops and spin are possible with this rubber.
This rubber has great touch and great control so blocking is perfect with it as is placing of the ball and so it is in the short game play.
Only downside is that the rubber tears somewhat easily since the rubber s quite thin.
Still a loopers dream but not for powerhitters our any other attackers, when you can loop with your BH you can do amazing damage because of the spin that it can produce
