Timo Boll Spirit (Butterfly)

Great for the European looping style of play. The Timo Boll Spirit has a good balance of speed and control. An overwhelming choice by many Butterfly sponsored players.

I can describe tiom boll spirit as PURE POWER!!!!! it is one of the heaviest feeling blades i ever feel. it is soooo good for looping, but you will have to have very proper strokes to use it good.

i tell you my experience with it using tenergy 05 on both sides

it feels very very hevay as i sed before. but for this, you are aable to make a lot of power speed and spin if you have good strokes. it is very easy to create very powerful smashes with this blade, espeically with agreat rubber like ten 05. It is somewhat harder to control with big strokes, because it is hard to keep a smooth stroke with such a heavy blade.

Power of carbon, the feel of wood and the softness of arylate. Blend all of this together and you get an awesome blade good at everything concerning offensive shots. I disagree with teh_anarchit saying it's a thick blade, he must have picked the wrong blade, TBS are usually around 5.6 and 5.7mm thick, which is really thin, if he said it was thick, I think he'd find clipper unplayable in table tennis! Also, it is one of the most balanced blade in terms of weight, it's light and perfectly balanced. With a nice quality finish, this blade is sure awesome. Anyway, this blade has a lot of dwell time, and combined with the right rubbers, it really shows its full potential, such as tenergy 05, boost tc/ts/tx etc etc... If you want something faster and harder, you may want to try the michael maze blade, and if you want something faster with about the same dwell time (imo), go for the zylon version. If you want something a tad softer with more control and dwell time, go for the galaxy K-4, which is also half the price of the TBS.

Anyway, I don't consider this a beginner blade, until you've mastered all the basic offensive shots with control.

Absolute beauty of a blade. The first blade i've really wanted to stick with in 8 years of playing, not only because I paid £60 for it, but because I've found nothing anywhere near as good as it. For the pace of the bat the control is incredible, mainly due to a nice soft springy feel it gives. With the right rubbers on it feels like you have all the time in the world to direct your shot and get that extra spin on. The bat seems really flexible for the distance you play from the table but I'd definate recommend it most for close-mid play. This is certainly not a beginners bat because of the speed, but if you're looking for controlled or quick attacking play then look no further.
You won't regret spending the bit extra, especially as it's very good build quality. I've pealed rubbers off several times in the last 6-8 months and the face of the blade still looks brand new, it should last a few years at least before needing a replacement.
I did have to make an adjustment to the way I played due to the extra pace but I believe this has just improved my game overall a lot and certainly not hindered me at all.
Weight wise it's not really bad at all at only 90kg, a bit heavier than my previous Andro blade but the rubbers that are chosen are really going to have more effect on weight.
If you're prepared to play with the extra pace then it's highly recommended.

The butterfly timo boll spirit is a fast attacking blade , once you get used to it you can perfom all shots, but you have to give it some time especially in the short game, it is not a blade for beginners but can be really used by everyone else.. once you are used to it is one of the best blades out there although it is pricey. The Short game is ok cause you can flick, push, and chop the ball with ease but the main thing the spirit is good in is the offensive play.
It is very good for looping and has a good dwell time, hitting is also no problem at all.
Very good in controlled blocking , good for close to table an off the table play, superb blade!

A very nice blade for the water-glue era. I had little problem switching from a Tibhar Samsonov Alpha to this blade.
The price is high, but you do get a very, very good blade for that money

The Butterfly Timo Spirit Blade is a classic blade used by the world champ. It is very fast, as it is extremely easy to gain momentum with it. I find it kind of hard to control though.

The blade is really thick and extremely heavy. So this is why its easy to gain momentum, but difficult to control. Its hard to keep your strokes controlled because of the heaviness of the blade, centered on the head.

The build quality is good though, and if you have a wrist and arm muscles, go for it!

A BTY Classic Blade in its own right. The TBS remains to be one of the more popular new Blades that BTY has offered, using the Arylate-Carbon Combo.

The blade offers more flexibility and dwell time compared to pure carbon blades, yet is sturdier, faster than other pure arylate blades.

The blade does not dissapoint when playing close or far from the table - it has the right amount of control when blocking, pushing, chopping and definitely has the power to play more aggressive either thru counterlooping or what have you.

Overall I would make this blade my main one for years to come.
