Hurricane 2 (Double Happiness/DHS)

Hurricane 2 (Double Happiness/DHS)

This is a power weapon. The 2005 world champion, Wang Liqin, with his extraordinary top spin strokes is using this rubber, specially developed for offensive players. During its development, it was considered that the 40mm ball needs a faster catapult. A slightly weaker sponge is the basic material, giving the rubber an extra speed. Assuming that you are the type of aggressive player, acting with fast topspins near the table and trying to get the point with the first stroke, then the Hurricane II is the perfect choice for you.

great rubber for spin , you must reglue it more and more to have good speed, the ball fly describing a low arc. Good in cutting, looping , serving.

I am using an H2 topsheet on 2.0 40deg Quattro sponge, and I think it is amazing.

Service
-Very Tacky topsheet, can pick balls up off a table
-Lots of spin

Short Game
- Pushes are spinny; hard to return
- Short pushes, long pushes; much easier to do due to the tackiness of the topsheet
- Flips are spinny and fast if you know how to do them.

Looping
- A Chinese style stroke makes it easier to get good speed. With a chinese stroke there is lots of feel, speed and spin in my loops. A euro stroke will be spinny but slower than a Chinese stroke; balls will tend to go off the edge of the table with a euro brush stroke.
- Looping backspin is a breeze

Weight
- Topsheet is harder than most topsheets. Globe 999 is soft and tacky, Hurricane is hard and tacky.
-Thick
- On the heavier side.

This is a really great rubber, however the heavy weight makes your racquet somewhat hard to swing. There is tremendous control on offense and counter, but blocking is not as effective. This isn't as much of a problem if you are using it exclusively on your forehand, which is what i recommend. Can loop slow, loop fast, control short game, flip with control and power, smash with control and power, and lots of versatility, control, and spin on serve.

Only downsides: almost no speed glue effect. And it is not actually as fast as rubbers like Bryce. Unless you are looping from far off the table, that power is not really a benefit. H2 is more designed for control and power close on the table.
