Yasaka Gatien extra 7 is a blade that very much combines speed and control. It has pretty good speed, and similar control.

The actual blade is 5 ply wood i think. it is not light, not too heavy. The wood is slightly on the hard side, but its not terribly hard either. What you get from this combination is a formidable blade with high speed and high control.

I found using this blade very pleasurably with offense and defense. I could block very nice shots because i could really control the spin, power, direction of the ball. I thought the speed was maybe a little lacking, but it was sufficient.

I definitely recommend this blade!

A fast blade with good control. Blade is stiff. Weighs in the low 90g's. Lots of feeling. Excellent build quality.
